Introduction
The Color Purple is a very strong-worded book that will most likely make you think about your own life in a different perspective. In it are many different messages or themes, including love, friendship, religion, family, gender, and many more. In my opinion, the most important of those are love, religion, and gender so I'd like to focus on those specifically. You will find that Alice Walker says a lot about each of these themes throughout the book.
I think Alice Walker did a great job writing this, because a great book is one that will lead to many different discussions. If it leads to discussions, that means that the book has real life content that is actually important to people. If people have different opinions about it, that tells me that the book is good because it's worth talking about. Since so many people have their own opinions regarding this book, I'd like to talk about my own, mostly regarding the themes.
